Chicken broth is a delicious nutritious dish that is loved and appreciated by every family. It is not only tasty, but also very useful for restoring strength and strengthening immunity in case of a cold. After all, chicken meat contains a large amount of protein, polyunsaturated fatty acids, as well as B vitamins.
It is necessary
-
- chilled gutted chicken;
- 1 onion;
- 1 carrot;
- salt;
- 2 black peppercorns;
- 2 sprigs of dill.
Instructions
Step 1
Pour cold filtered water into a saucepan. Note that the pot must be large enough to hold a whole chicken. A 3-liter saucepan will usually work.
Step 2
Rinse the gutted chicken thoroughly under running water.
Step 3
Place the washed chicken in a pot of water.
Step 4
Place the pot over high heat and bring the water to a boil.
Step 5
Drain the first broth and re-fill the pot with cold filtered water.
Step 6
Bring the broth to a boil again. Now carefully remove the formed foam, and reduce the heat to the minimum value. Be prepared for the fact that during the cooking process you will need to remove the foam more than once, as it appears.
Step 7
Place the carrots in the broth. Moreover, cut the carrot lengthwise into two halves. It is cooked in broth for about 15 minutes, absorbing all that "bad" that can be contained in the chicken. Then, remove the carrot pieces and discard.
Step 8
Add the husked onion, salt to taste, and peppercorns to the saucepan.
Step 9
Boil the broth over low heat for 2 hours.
Step 10
Use a fork to test the chicken's doneness. If the fork easily pierces the leg meat, then the chicken is already cooked.
Step 11
Remove the chicken from the broth. In the future, you can prepare a dish from it at your discretion.
Step 12
Be sure to strain the finished broth through a sieve, and then pour into a beautiful tureen. If you prefer, you can add chopped dill or freshly made croutons to the broth.
