Potatoes and rice are two separate side dishes that are most commonly used in dinner preparation. If you combine them together, you get a very tasty and satisfying dish!
It is necessary
- - peeled garlic 6 cloves;
- - chili pepper 1 pc.;
- - fresh ginger 1/2 pc.;
- - rapeseed oil 1 glass;
- - onion 1 pc.;
- - black peppercorns 4 pcs.;
- - 2 bay leaves;
- - black cardamom 1 pack;
- - cinnamon 1 pc.;
- - tomatoes 4 pcs.;
- - salt;
- - ground coriander 1/4 teaspoon;
- - ground turmeric 1/4 teaspoon;
- - rice 3/4 cup;
- - frozen green peas 3/4 cup;
- - potatoes 1 pc.;
- - pitted dates 10 pcs.;
- - cilantro 1 bunch;
- - cloves to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Chop the garlic, chili and ginger, add 3 tbsp. tablespoons of water and stir until smooth. You can use a blender. Peel the tomatoes and chop very finely.
Step 2
Peel and chop the onion. Fry the onion in hot rapeseed oil until golden brown. Then add the garlic mass and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Step 3
Then add pepper, bay leaf, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and salt and cook for 1 minute. Then add half the tomatoes, coriander and turmeric to the pan and cook for 3 minutes.
Step 4
Add rice, peas and a cup and a half of water to the skillet and bring to a boil. Cook with the lid closed for 12 minutes, until the rice is tender. Then add the potatoes, the remaining spices and tomatoes to the rice, stir and simmer until the potatoes are tender.
