It is quite possible to cook a delicious pea soup without soaking the peas, but in this case, its preparation will take much longer. The soaking process is quite simple and contributes not only to softening the peas, but also to improving the taste of the soup, since the water washes out excess starch from it.
It is necessary
-
- Peas
- water.
Instructions
Step 1
You can use whole grains or crushed grains for soup. Before preparing the peas for the soup, rinse them well. To do this, take a colander, pour the peas into it and place the dishes under running water for a few minutes, stirring occasionally the peas. You can also wash it in a regular saucepan. In this case, you just need to repeatedly change the water to get rid of excess starch and dust.
Step 2
When the peas are done, soak them in water. If the peas are crushed and their kernels are divided into two halves, just put them in a saucepan, pour boiling water over and cover with a lid on top. After the water has cooled, drain it and rinse the swollen peas again. After that, it is ready for cooking and is laid out in a saucepan with broth or clean water. After soaking, it cooks in the soup until soft quickly enough.
Step 3
If the grains are whole, then their preparation will take much more time. Therefore, if pea soup is planned for lunch, you need to soak the peas in advance. It is best to fill it with water overnight, then in the morning you will only need to rinse it and put it in broth. Using hot water can shorten the preparation time of the peas. Pour boiling water over the peas, boil them for a minute and wait for the water to cool. Then submerge the peas in hot water again. So within 30 minutes it will reach the desired condition.
