Rice in bags is a practical proposal of manufacturers for those who, in principle, do not know how to cook cereals. After all, this type of packaged food does not need to be interfered with during the cooking process, you do not need to constantly monitor it, it does not stick to the pan, and the finished rice always turns out to be crumbly and tastes good.
Instructions
Step 1
Shake the rice bag. Typically, one package equals one serving of rice. Typically, boiling bags contain white long-grain parboiled and brown parboiled rice, less commonly round-grain parboiled cereals.
Step 2
Boil a large amount of water in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and add a generous amount of salt. A 100-gram sachet should contain at least 1 liter of water.
Step 3
Place the cooking bags of rice in the water without opening or piercing them. Small holes along the entire area of the package allow the cereal to absorb the necessary amount of liquid during the cooking process. The boiling water should completely cover the bags. Keep in mind that you do not need to rinse packaged cereals before cooking - they are already peeled and processed properly.
Step 4
Cook the rice, tightly closing the saucepan, over moderate heat until cooked: it is enough to boil white parboiled rice for 12-15 minutes, brown - 22-25 minutes.
Step 5
Use a fork to remove the bag of rice using the loop on one of its sides provided for this purpose. Let the water drain.
Step 6
Open the brewing bag by cutting it with a knife along the notch line. Place the rice on a plate and add butter to taste to serve as a side dish, or use to prepare a special recipe.
Step 7
Finished rice is tasty and crumbly. Cooking in sachets guarantees no sticking, sticking of the product. And after cooking, just rinse the pan.
