Chocolate icing is most often made from cocoa. However, it is much easier to prepare it from chocolate, despite the fact that truly "chocolate" icing turns out to be much tastier, richer and more pliable in consistency. Plus, it only needs two ingredients to make it.

It is necessary

  • - 100 g of pure black (dark) chocolate;
  • - 3 tablespoons of milk.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare your ingredients. Please note that chocolate must be pure, that is, without additives such as nuts, raisins, various types of layers and jams. It is also better to use dark chocolate with the highest percentage of cocoa - it will be of better quality and tastier. You should not replace dark chocolate with milk, as the taste will be "washed out" by the added milk. You can take any milk itself, but the fatter it is, the richer the taste of your glaze will turn out.

Step 2

Break the chocolate into medium pieces (you can do it by the divisions of the chocolate bar, but not necessary) and place in a heat-resistant dish. To do this, you can use both ordinary metal bowls and special bowls for making glaze. They are usually sold in specialized kitchenware stores.

Step 3

Add three tablespoons of milk. Milk is added not so much for taste as for consistency. If the chocolate is simply melted, it will thicken and harden very quickly, so that you will not have time to decorate the baked goods. Milk-added chocolate icing is ideal for those who prefer milk chocolate to dark chocolate.

Step 4

Prepare a water bath. To do this, take a saucepan, fill it with water, put it on the stove and bring to a boil. On top of the pan, place the dishes in which you are cooking the icing, so that it does not sink into the water and the ingredients are steamed.

Step 5

Stir the frosting until the chocolate is completely melted into a smooth, thick mass. Make sure there are no lumps.

Step 6

Remove the finished glaze from the bath and, without letting it cool and thicken, pour over the baked goods. You can use a regular spoon to evenly distribute the glaze over the product, but it is better to purchase a silicone brush. You need to coat the product quickly, until the glaze in the dishes is frozen.

Step 7

Wait for the frosting to completely harden on your piece. If you are in no hurry and do not expect guests from minute to minute, then you can leave the pastries in any cool place. If you are about to serve your dish, place the decorated baked goods in the refrigerator for a few minutes so that the icing sets as quickly as possible.

Step 8

If you are cooking dried fruits or nuts in chocolate, it is better to add less milk. This will make your chocolate frosting thicker and richer. If, on the other hand, you want to make a light frosting (for example, for cookies), then add more milk.
