Skillful housewives often think about preparing beautiful and original salads, which are quite difficult to give a rectangular, square or round shape. To achieve the desired configuration of the salad, you need to use available tools in the form of a regular box, plastic bottle or can of canned food.
Simple ways
First of all, you need to decide on the shape that the salad will have. To give the outline of a square or rectangle, you can use a box from under a cake or other product, having previously cut the bottom out of it. The inner walls of the box are neatly lined with cling film or foil, after which the homemade form is placed on the dish and filled with salad. Then cut one side of the mold with sharp scissors and carefully remove it from the salad, which can only be trimmed and decorated as desired. It is not recommended to use a lot of dressing or mayonnaise to make these salads, as they will creep.
You can use a tin can, canned corn / pea can, or a regular plastic bottle to give the salad a round shape and low height. At the selected form, you need to cut off the top and bottom, leaving the middle of the required height, which is then filled with salad. If you wish, you can cut off a tapered top from another bottle to give the salad the shape of a Christmas tree. A salad in the shape of a heart, star, or other custom object can be made using foil. To create a layered salad, lay the salad on an oval dish, alternating its layers with vertical hardboard partitions, which are then carefully removed.
The original way
This method is ideal for laying out a salad in the shape of an animal - for example, a symbol of the coming year. To create it, you will need a drawing of an animal, a cutting board, a light flat dish and cling film. The ingredients for this salad depend solely on the recipe. First you need to print the drawing, redraw it on paper and cut it out, taking into account the size of the drawing, which should fit on a salad dish.
The prepared piece is placed on a cutting board and covered with cling film, tucking its ends under the board. The salad mass is spread on the film along the contour of the drawing. The entire salad, which is outside the outline of the drawing, is carefully removed and the salad is covered with a flat dish, trying not to press it too hard, otherwise the shape of the salad will creep. A small flat tool like a spatula is great for shaping this salad. Then the salad must be carefully and quickly turned upside down, the board, film and picture must be removed from it, the edges must be corrected and decorated with the features of the "face" of the selected animal.
