The humidity of the room does not really matter, since the bottle is already hermetically sealed.

You can keep an unopened bottle of whiskey for as long as you like. The tightness of the closure allows you not to worry about the quality of the drink. But it is necessary to ensure that the bottle is in an upright position, and the drink does not come into contact with the cork.

When storing a unopened bottle of whiskey, remember that oxygen, getting inside the bottle, begins to interact with the whiskey, changing its taste. The less the drink itself remains in the bottle and the more air gets into it, the faster the oxidative processes go, therefore, the worse the quality of the whiskey becomes. In addition, whiskey, like any other alcoholic beverages, starts to evaporate in an open bottle.

Now manufacturers often produce whiskey in additional packaging - tubes. They serve not only for decorative purposes, they are convenient for storing whiskey. Firstly, the tube protects the glass of the bottle from mechanical damage, and secondly, it protects the drink itself from direct sunlight.
