How to cook rice noodles

To prepare rice noodles, both as an independent dish and as an ingredient in more complex dishes, in addition to the noodles themselves, you will need water and (optionally) sesame oil.

If you need to prepare rice noodles for use in another hot dish, soak them in warm water. This means that you can partially cook the noodles, they will be soft on the outside but firm on the inside. Soaking in warm water is also good for adding rice noodles to soup, but dry noodles are also fine for soups without presoaking.

Place the noodles in a large bowl and cover with water. It should be warm to the touch, but not hot. After seven to ten minutes in warm water, the noodles will begin to separate, which means it's time to drain the water. After that, you need to rinse it with cold water, this will stop the soaking process.

The noodles prepared in this way can be added to stews, soup and other dishes.

To keep the noodles from drying out, you can mix them with a little sesame oil.

Soaking rice noodles

Soaking in boiling water is suitable if you plan to use rice noodles in any cold dishes, such as salads. You can also use hot water to make flat noodles, which are used for wrapping.

In this case, pour boiling water into a bowl of noodles. Unlike the more common wheat noodles, rice noodles do not need to be boiled in water; it is enough to pour hot water over and leave to soak. The noodles are fully cooked in seven to ten minutes, but if you plan to use them in another dish, you should drain the water sooner, as soon as the noodles begin to separate, and then mix it with sesame oil.

Rice noodles with turkey meat

Rice noodles can be used to prepare a wide variety of salads, soups and hot meals. One of the simple and quick recipes for dishes is turkey fillet with noodles: a minimum of ingredients, preparatory steps and an excellent result.

To prepare turkey fillet with rice noodles, you will need:

1.turkey fillet - 400 g;

2. Bulgarian pepper - 1;

3.carrots - 1;

4. onion - 1 head;

5. ginger - root 1, 5 - 2 cm long;

6.soy sauce - 4 tbsp. l;

7. vegetable oil

Cut the turkey fillet into cubes and fry in vegetable oil until tender. Cut the onion into half rings, fry. Cut the bell pepper into strips, add to the onion, grate the carrots, add to the pan, fry the vegetables until tender.

At the same time, pour warm water over the rice noodles for ten minutes, stirring constantly until they begin to separate.

If the meat is ready, transfer it to the vegetables, mix gently, add the noodles. Mix everything evenly. Rub the ginger root on a fine grater and add to the pan. Add soy sauce, stir and fry for another five minutes.

It should be noted that rice noodles are an extremely fragile product; it is better to handle them carefully so as not to accidentally break them. Fresh rice noodles are soft, however, they are more often sold dry.

Rice noodles are not only used in simple salads and soups, but also perfectly harmonize with meat, fish, vegetables, fit perfectly into a duet with seafood and create wonderful dishes with fried mushrooms.
