Vegetables in batter are a favorite dish of many housewives. To prepare it, no special skill and material costs are required. A huge plus of such dishes is that you can use any available vegetables.
Beer batter
To prepare it you will need:
- beer - 1/2 glass;
- flour - 3/4 cup;
- egg - 1 piece;
- salt and seasonings to taste;
- vegetable oil for frying.
To prepare the batter, beat the egg into a bowl, add a pinch of fine salt, any seasonings and beat with a fork or whisk. Pour the beer in a thin stream, without ceasing to whisk. Sift the flour and add it to the egg-beer mixture in small portions, there should be no lumps. In consistency, the batter should be slightly thicker than the pancake dough.
Champignons in beer batter
My mushrooms, lightly dry, if very large, cut in half or into quarters.
Pour sunflower oil into a deep frying pan and bring it to almost a boil. We string the champignons on a fork and dip them in batter (you can do it with your hands) and immediately put them in boiling oil. Fry the mushrooms until tender. This usually takes 10-15 minutes. If there is a fear that the mushrooms will not be fried, you can first boil them for a couple of minutes.
Potatoes in batter
In addition to potatoes, you can use beets, small carrots, cauliflower, etc. We wash the vegetables, peel and boil until tender. Cut the potatoes and beets into slices, about 1 cm thick (cut the carrots lengthwise, disassemble the cauliflower into coots). Dip vegetables in batter and fry until crisp. Then we spread the vegetables on a napkin to remove excess fat.
