Picking berries

One of the easiest ways to cook sea buckthorn is to sprinkle it with sugar. Take 2 kg of berries and 1 kg of sugar. The berry is covered with sugar and mixed. Time is waiting. After the juice is released, drain it into sterile jars and put it in a cool dark place. Can be refrigerated. It is good to make jelly and tea from such juice. You can prepare a healing tincture with vodka or cognac. If you drink juice every day for 1 tsp. you can save yourself from colds in the winter time.
Sea buckthorn jam with rose hips
This jam is a wonderful elixir that supports immunity well in the cold season.
For jam you will need:
- 1 kg of sea buckthorn
- 1 kg of large rose hips
- 1 liter of water
- 1kg sugar
- Wash the sea buckthorn carefully. It is better to do this by putting it in a colander. Hold under a tap with cold water. Cut the rosehip and remove the seeds.
- Make a syrup with water and sugar.
- Sterilize banks in advance. Put the berries in them in layers. Pour over the prepared syrup. Close the jars hermetically. Insulate, that is, cover well with something warm and leave to cool completely.
Since this jam does not undergo heat treatment, the vitamins in it are completely preserved.
Sea buckthorn jelly
There is a lot of pectin in sea buckthorn, and therefore a very tasty jelly is obtained from it. It is prepared only from sugar and berries.
Required:
- 1.2 kg sea buckthorn
- 1.5 kg sugar
- Prepare sea buckthorn. Wash, remove excess. Heat the berry in a saucepan over low heat. You can add a little sugar. It is necessary that she give juice and burst. It is better if the berry is well ripe.
- Then mash the berry. You can use your hands, or you can use a crush. Rub through a sieve. Do not throw out the pulp: it is good to cook compote or jelly from it. You can use a juicer.
- Mix the resulting sea buckthorn juice with sugar and put on medium heat. As soon as it boils, reduce heat and cook for 15-20 minutes. The foam can be removed.
- Pour the finished jelly into small sterile jars. Cool and refrigerate.
