If you are going to invite your friends for a glass of beer, do not rush to the nearest kiosk for bags of nuts or chips. A tasty and original beer snack is easy to make at home. You don't even need to buy additional groceries - use what is already in the refrigerator and kitchen cabinets. Of course, such dishes cannot be called very healthy and dietary, but they turn out to be extremely tasty. So don't skimp on quantity, make more snacks and serve them all at once so guests have a choice.
Fried onion rings
This savory snack is best served with homemade croutons, cheese and pickled vegetables. You will get a delicious assortment for beer.
You will need:
- 3 large onions;
- 4 tbsp. tablespoons of wheat flour;
- 0.5 cups of milk;
- salt;
- freshly ground black pepper;
- vegetable oil for deep fat.
Combine the flour with salt and pepper and put the mixture in a plastic bag. Cut the onion into neat rings. Dip the onions in the milk one at a time and then dip them into the bag. Shake it well so that the rings are completely covered with the flour mixture.
In a saucepan, bring vegetable oil to a boil. Place the onions in a wire basket and dip in the butter. Fry the rings for about 45 seconds until a nice golden brown. Then place them on a paper towel lined plate. Let the excess fat drain and serve the snack to the table.
In this way, you can cook squid rings - they are also suitable as a snack for beer.
Cheese in dough
This hearty snack can be made with different types of cheese. An important condition: soft cheese must be frozen before frying.
You will need:
- 300 g of edam cheese;
- 75 g of wheat flour;
- 150 ml of beer;
- 1 egg;
- salt;
- vegetable oil for deep fat;
- a bunch of green salad
Cut the cheese into small square slices. Separate the white from the yolk. Pour flour into a bowl, make a depression and release the yolk into it. Stir the dough, gradually adding beer to it. Beat the protein with salt and add portions into the dough.
Heat oil in a saucepan. Dip the cheese slices into the dough so that it completely covers them. Spread the cheese in a saucepan and fry until golden brown. Let the excess oil drain, then serve the grilled cheese along with a fresh salad.
Home brushwood
Unusual brushwood made from salted dough can be served with beer.
You will need:
- 2 eggs;
- 1 teaspoon of sugar;
- 0.75 tsp salt;
- 1 tbsp. a spoonful of vegetable oil;
- 1 teaspoon of butter;
- 1 tbsp. a spoonful of vinegar;
- 2 cups wheat flour;
- vegetable oil for deep fat.
Dried herbs - basil, celery, parsley can be added to the dough for brushwood.
Combine eggs with sugar, salt, two types of oil, and vinegar. Add the pre-sifted flour gradually. Knead a firm, heavy dough, put it in a lump and cover with an empty saucepan. Let the dough stand for 30 minutes. Then roll it into a thin layer on a floured board.
Heat the oil in a deep skillet. Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into short strips, twist each in a spiral shape and fry until golden brown. Put the finished brushwood on a dish. Serve warm or cold.
