It is necessary

  • - 6 large or medium sized apples, preferably sweet and sour;
  • - 120-140 g of buckwheat;
  • - a pinch of cinnamon (to taste);
  • - 1 tsp granulated sugar (for sprinkling);
  • - 1-1½ tbsp. apple juice;
  • - 1-2 tsp honey;
  • - 2 bunches of absolutely fresh green basil (about 100-120 g of leaves);
  • - nuts, berries - optional;
  • - raisins - optional;
  • - a sprig of mint or a few small leaves of green basil for decoration (optional);
  • - 150 ml of water for syrup;
  • - vanilla sugar, vanillin or natural vanilla (to taste);
  • - 300-320 g of granulated sugar for syrup.

Instructions

Step 1

Boil water for syrup, add granulated sugar. Rinse basil leaves, dry with a napkin and put in syrup. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes (the syrup should acquire an appropriate consistency). Remove from heat, let cool.

Step 2

Prepare the basil sauce: Combine the basil syrup, apple juice, honey, vanilla sugar and stir well.

Step 3

If you are using raisins, then rinse them thoroughly (to remove the oil with which they are processed) and soak in warm water for ~ 15 minutes.

Step 4

Boil buckwheat in enough water so that you get a soft, crumbly porridge. Remove from heat, cool.

Step 5

Wash the apples, cut off the top so that you get a "lid". Gently remove the middle with a teaspoon; in this case, the thickness of the walls should be about 0.8-1 cm. Do not throw away the core, it will still come in handy.

Step 6

Preheat the oven to 180-200 ° C. Line a baking sheet with baking paper, put apples on it (without "lids"). Place in the oven and bake until almost done. Remove apples from oven, sprinkle with cinnamon.

Step 7

Cut off all the pulp from the remaining core, mash (make mashed potatoes), mix with buckwheat. Fill the apples with the mixture. If you use additional nuts, berries and / or raisins, then do not fill the apples to the top. Sprinkle with sugar. Cover with "lids" and put back in the oven for 10-15 minutes.

Step 8

Remove the apples from the oven and place them in a suitable dish. Put nuts, raisins, berries inside. Pour a little sauce, garnish with basil and mint leaves. It can be served both cold and warm. Serve the sauce in a separate bowl.
