It is necessary

  • - 1 beef tongue,
  • - 1-2 carrots,
  • - Bay leaf,
  • - 2 packets of gelatin 10 g each,
  • - 1 onion,
  • - 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • - salt, herbs.

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse under a stream and pour water over the beef tongue, bring to a boil. Immediately after boiling, drain the water, pour the tongue with fresh water, add the peeled whole onion, bay leaf, simmer for 2-2.5 hours. Half an hour before being ready, salt and add the whole peeled carrots. Remove the boiled tongue from the broth and cool. Remove the skin from it, cut into thin slices about 0.5 cm thick.

Step 2

To prepare jelly for jellied gelatin, soak in half a glass of water, leave for 10-15 minutes to swell. 800 ml of broth in which the tongue and carrots were cooked, strain through a sieve, add lemon juice, salt. Warm the broth, but do not bring it to a boil, add the dissolved gelatin to the broth and mix thoroughly.

Step 3

Jellied can be decorated with circles and other figurines made from boiled carrots, lemon, herbs, green pot, olives.

Step 4

Put the slices of the tongue on a large dish or a few plates, lay out the decorations, pour a thin layer of broth over it with a spoon, then refrigerate for 30 minutes so that the broth hardens and fixes the decorations and pieces of the tongue. Then pour the remaining broth over the entire surface of the plate. Put to cool in the refrigerator until it solidifies.
