The famous Napoleon cake was originally known as a triangular cake, reminiscent of Napoleon Bonaparte's cocked hat. It is not often taken at home - the classic recipe for its preparation is not particularly easy. But there are also simplified options that allow you to prepare a delicious treat, while a little time will be spent.

To prepare a simplified version of the Napoleon cake, you will need ready-made cakes. You can buy in the store cakes specially made for such a cake - they are called "Napoleon cake cakes". For one pack of cakes, you will need a can of condensed milk, 400 g of butter (both butter and milk should be at room temperature, so they must be taken out of the refrigerator ahead of time). You will also need 2 yolks, a third of a glass of sugar, a glass of walnuts (peeled).

To prepare the cream, place the butter in a cup and with a mixer, turned on at medium speed, beat until it turns white. You can add a pack of vanilla sugar to the butter. Without stopping whipping, add the yolks and sugar, condensed milk in a thin stream. Do not interrupt whisking until the whole mass becomes homogeneous in consistency, white and smooth.

Chop the walnuts. Open the pack of cakes, place the first of them on the board, and spread the cream thoroughly. Place the next cake layer and repeat the spreading. The cream is delicious, very delicate. Sprinkle nuts on top of the top cake on top of the spread cream. You can trim the edges of the cake to make it the shape you want.

The next steps depend on how much time you have at your disposal. If possible, it is better to put the cake under a press for a couple of hours, and then put it in the refrigerator for better saturation of the cakes with cream. Or, if time is short, place the cake in the freezer for one hour. In this case, the cream leaves a little less, since the cake is not soaked as it should. After that, serve the "Napoleon" cakes on the table.
