You won't surprise anyone with ordinary boiled eggs. They are eaten just like that, added to salads, pies, and decorated with them on dishes. But sometimes you want variety so much! For example, you can make a heart-shaped egg.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure there are no cracks in the egg shell. Hard boil the egg by adding a couple of teaspoons of salt to the water - this will prevent the shell from cracking during the cooking process. Dip it in cold water to help peel off the shell, but don't leave it in there for too long. Peel the egg carefully - try not to peel off the protein along with the shell, otherwise it will not turn out too aesthetically pleasing. Do not let the egg cool down until the end - this trick will not work with a cold egg.
Step 2
Fold a piece of cardboard or heavy paper in the middle. You can take a Whatman paper for this purpose. Place the egg in the resulting fold-pocket. Take a stick (Chinese, splinter, thin pencil or knitting needle), place it on top and press the egg down hard. But do it carefully so that the egg doesn't crumble.
Step 3
Take heavy rubber bands and wrap the ends of the stick onto the paper. Leave the egg in this workpiece for a while - let it cool down. As it cools, the egg will take on a shape a bit like a coffee bean, with a notch in the middle. Gently flatten the edges with your fingers.
Step 4
Remove the rubber bands, stick and cardboard. At this stage, the egg will not look like a heart, but if you cut it carefully, the cut will look very much like a heart. Halves of these eggs can be used to decorate salads, sandwiches and other dishes. By the way, you can try to make such hearts from quail eggs, only in this case you will need to take a thinner stick, for example, an old rod from a ballpoint pen.
