Jelly chewing gum will be not only interesting, but also useful even for young children. The texture of the gum is in many ways similar to the marmalade, it can be swallowed without negative consequences for the body. For cooking you will need:

- fruit juice - 50 ml;

- gelatin - 10 g;

- starch - ½ tsp;

- water - 50 ml;

- sugar syrup - 150 ml;

- lemon juice - 2, 5 tbsp. l.

Put the fruit juice in the microwave and heat it up a little. Pour gelatin with warmed juice and leave to swell. Pour the sugar syrup into a convenient container and heat slightly. At this stage, if you wish, you can add food coloring, flavoring, or a small amount of aromatic cinnamon, grated zest and vanillin.

Add the swollen gelatin and starch to the warm syrup. Stir the mixture thoroughly until a smooth consistency is obtained. Pass the mass through a sieve, put in small molds and refrigerate for 6-8 hours. As time passes, the gummies can be consumed.

Instead of chewing gum, you can chew honeycomb, which is not only tasty, but also healthy.

You can also prepare chewing gum at home using a special base - gum base. Such products are rare guests in supermarkets, so you will have to go to online stores in search. To make chewing gum, take:

- base for chewing gum - 1 tbsp. l.;

- corn syrup - 1 tsp;

- starch - 2 tbsp. l.;

- food coloring - 2 drops;

- flavoring additive.

Before preparing the gum base, warm it up in the microwave so that it acquires a consistency that is comfortable to work with. For a medium-power microwave oven, 1.5 minutes will be enough. Add syrup to the softened base and knead the mass thoroughly until a homogeneous consistency is obtained.

Put the resulting homogeneous mass in a pile of starch and knead as if you were working with dough. After it is smooth and firm, add food coloring and flavorings. Roll out the layer and squeeze various shapes out of it with cookie cutters or cut into pillows. Place the cooked gum in the refrigerator for several hours to harden.

Corn syrup can be substituted for liquid young honey or any other sugar-free syrup.

The method of cooking with powdered sugar is slightly different. Instead of starch, take 2 tbsp. l. icing sugar. Without removing the gum base from the water bath, add the syrup and mix thoroughly. Add half the amount of powdered sugar, flavor and color to the mass. Spread the remaining powder on the table in a thin layer, gently roll the heated base in it. After cooling down, divide the mass into separate pieces.

In Southeast Asia and India, chewing gum is still being prepared from lime, areca palm seeds and pepper betel leaves. The benefits of such a product are questionable, but local residents claim that it is an aphrodisiac and an effective disinfectant.
