It is impossible to make a real chewing gum like Orbit, Stimorola or Love iz at home: such chewing gum is prepared on special equipment from synthetic polymers. But you can make simpler chewing gum without any problems.

It is necessary

    • Coniferous resin or cherry tree resin
    • Birch juice.

Instructions

Step 1

You can make chewing gum out of wood resin; for this purpose, resin from conifers (such as larch) or cherry tree resin is best. Chewing gum from these resins will turn out to be very fragrant and pleasant to the taste.

Step 2

To prepare the gum, collect the pieces of bark that are beaded with resin. Place it in a colander or any other perforated dish.

Step 3

Place a colander over a container of water (a regular saucepan is best), cover and set on fire.

Step 4

As soon as the water boils, the bark begins to languish in a "water bath" and secrete resin and juice, which will drain into the water, accumulating there.

Step 5

When all the resin has evaporated from the bark (this will happen about half an hour after the start of the boil), cool the water and remove the resin from it.

Step 6

Roll the mixture into a sausage and cut into slices of equal thickness. To make the gum sweet, sprinkle the pieces with powdered sugar. Wrap each piece in candy wrappers to keep it from drying out. Chewing gum is ready!

Step 7

Birch sap is also an excellent base for making chewing gum. Split birch bark, put in a pot of water and put on fire. When the juice comes out of the bark, remove it from the kettle and cook the resulting liquid until the juice thickens and settles to the bottom.
