Many housewives, making preparations for the winter, wonder how else to diversify the range of their stocks and how to surprise guests. You can try to cook lecho "Delight", the piquant taste of which will not leave anyone indifferent.

It is necessary

  • 5 kg of bell pepper,
  • 5 kg of tomatoes;
  • 1 cup vegetable oil;
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 head of garlic;
  • 1 tbsp. l. 70% vinegar;
  • ½ tsp ground red pepper;
  • 3 tbsp. l. salt;
  • Bay leaf to taste.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut ripe pulpy peppers into strips about 5-8 mm wide. Cut the tomatoes into small slices about 5 mm thick. Garlic can be passed through a press, or you can simply chop finely.

Step 2

Stir the chopped vegetables, add a glass of sugar, salt, a glass of oil, ground pepper, bay leaf and vinegar to the mixture, then transfer the vegetable mass to a large enamel container. Put on the stove and simmer over low heat for an hour, stirring constantly so that the vegetable mixture does not burn. There is no need to add water.

Step 3

After the vegetables are cooked, tightly, without the formation of air voids, fill the prepared clean jars with the vegetable mass (on top, the vegetables must be completely covered with juice). Sterilize jars with lecho in boiling water: half-liter - about 30 minutes, liter - 45 minutes. Roll lecho.

Output - 4.5 liters of product.
