Many people know this salad with apples and ham under a completely different name - Australian salad. Australians are big lovers of meat, they often eat it fried and baked. Their cuisine represents cooking traditions and recipes from many cuisines of the world.
To prepare 5 servings of apple and ham salad you will need:
- ham 200 g;
- fresh tomatoes 280 g;
- fresh cucumbers 150 g;
- apples 150 g;
- celery 150 g;
- vegetable oil 10 g;
- orange juice 40 g;
- salad 120 g;
- mayonnaise 80 g.
Cut the ham into thin slices or circles and lightly fry in vegetable oil over high heat. Roll each of its slice into a roll. Wash the cucumbers, remove the place of attachment of the stalk, peel, if the skin is coarse, and cut into cubes.
Also, seeds should be removed from cucumbers if not gherkins are used for cooking. Wash the celery and apples, remove the seed nest from the apples and cut into cubes, like cucumbers. Mix orange juice with mayonnaise until smooth and pour over prepared apples, cucumbers and celery with this mixture.
Put lettuce leaves on a plate, on them - vegetables and apples, seasoned with mayonnaise with juice, garnish with chopped tomato slices, lettuce and ham rolls. Lettuce leaves can be used pickled, as they do in Australia.
You can also mix chopped celery, cucumber and apple with orange juice and garnish with mayonnaise at the end of the salad dressing.
