Everyone knows that bread is one of the most popular foods on the table of Russians. A rare family buys bread less than once every two days. However, a tendency has been noticed - recently, less bread has been consumed. So it happens that the purchased loaf is not eaten right away. It doesn't matter - if stored properly, bread can stay fresh for up to 5 days!

Instructions

Step 1

There is a special container for storing bread - a bread bin. Breadbins made of wood and birch bark are considered the best. Wooden ones have antibacterial properties, and birch barks have a sponge effect: absorbing excess moisture, they retain the taste of freshness for a long time. Other options for bread bins are significantly inferior to them in properties, so put at least a wooden or birch bark stand or board inside.

Step 2

Bread will stay fresh longer if you put a slice of peeled potatoes, a chopped apple, a little salt or sugar cubes in the bread bin. Naturally, don't forget to change them periodically!

Step 3

It has been proven that if you wrap bread in a linen or canvas towel, it will stale more slowly and retain its properties for a whole week!

Step 4

A more modern option is special bread bags, which are sold in supermarkets and specialized sections of stores. They consist of three layers: the top is cotton fabric, the lining is also "hebeshka", and between them is a layer of perforated polyethylene. Such bags allow you to keep the nutrients of the bread, and the product itself fresh for a long time.

Step 5

But storing bread in plastic bags, near heating systems and in direct sunlight is a direct way to its early staleness!

Step 6

Some housewives prefer to store bread in the refrigerator. Indeed, bread stale more slowly at a temperature of minus 18-20 degrees C. However, many note that such bread loses its taste. And keep in mind: on the top shelf of the refrigerator (at a temperature of about plus 2 degrees C), bread can become stale twice as fast.
