This layer cake is called differently: "Honeycomb", "Cherry Hill", "Roof", "Hut", etc. However, his most popular name is “Monastyrskaya hut”. The filling is usually made with cherries and prunes. And since puff pastry is used, it will take very little time to bake. We will learn all the subtleties and tricks of its preparation.
It is necessary
- walnuts;
- cherry or pitted cherries;
- puff pastry - 550 g;
- vanilla - 1 sachet;
- butter - 1 pack;
- condensed milk - 1 can.
Instructions
Step 1
Defrost the finished dough and roll it into thin layers. Then divide into 16 equal strips. Remove the berries from the jar and place them in a sieve or colander to drain the juice. Place the berries one after the other in the middle of each dough strip.
Step 2
Pinch the edges on top, as is usually done with patties. When doing this, leave free holes on the sides. As a result, you should get 15 tubes with a berry as a filling, and the last slice will go for sprinkling.
Step 3
Arrange the straws on a baking sheet so that they do not touch each other. Preheat oven to 200oC and bake until golden brown. Then cool the products.
Step 4
Whisk the condensed milk together with the vanilla and butter until elastic and smooth. Lay out the tubes in the form of a hut, in layers. Lubricate each with cream and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
Step 5
Sprinkle the top with crumbs from a specially baked piece of dough. Place the Monastyrskaya Hut cake in the refrigerator for 12 hours to soak. And then serve with hot tea.
