One of the foundations of a successful birthday party is an interestingly laid table. Try on the day of the holiday to serve guests for a snack not standard sandwiches, but unusual dishes from different cuisines of the world, for example, French.
Portion quiche with cheese and tomatoes
Kish is an open French pie with a variety of fillings. It can be served as a main course or as a hearty birthday snack. The portioned quiche is convenient because it is convenient to eat it both at the table and while standing during a buffet table.
You will need:
- packaging of ready-made puff pastry;
- 1 tbsp. medium fat sour cream;
- 3 eggs;
- 50 g of Gruyere cheese;
- 200 g cherry tomatoes;
- 150 g mozzarella;
- a bunch of basil;
- vegetable oil;
- salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Gruyere cheese can be substituted for emmental or maasdam.
Gruyere grate on a coarse grater, put it in a bowl. Add sour cream there and break the eggs. Salt and pepper and mix everything. Roll out the puff pastry thinly and cut it into circles with a diameter of about 10 cm. The size may vary depending on the form in which you want to bake small cakes. Grease the molds with butter and place the dough in them, evenly spreading around the edges and in the center. Make several punctures of the dough with a fork, preheat the oven and bake the future quiche base in it for 5 minutes. Remove and cool slightly without removing from the molds.
Wash the cherry tomatoes, cut in half and put 2-3 halves in each pie. Pour in the mixture of eggs, sour cream and cheese. Cut the mozzarella into thin slices and place on top of each cake. Bake the muffins for 15 minutes. While still hot, remove them from the molds and garnish with basil leaves. A good addition to the quiche would be a green salad seasoned with a little balsamic vinegar.
If you do not have cherry tomatoes, use regular ones, but preferably they have a sweetish taste.
Piedmontaz salad
You will need:
- 600 g of potatoes;
- 5 eggs;
- 12 gherkins;
- 200 g of ham;
- 2-3 medium tomatoes;
- a few radishes;
- a bunch of parsley;
- olive oil;
- 1 tsp dijon mustard;
- salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Boil the potatoes in salted water along with 4 eggs. Peel both foods and cut into small cubes. Wash and grate the radishes. Cut the ham into strips, chop the gherkins and tomatoes. Combine all of these ingredients in a salad bowl.
Prepare the sauce separately. To do this, separate the yolk from the white of the remaining egg. Mix the yolk with mustard, a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour in the vegetable oil while stirring the sauce. It should be thick enough. Season salad with this sauce and serve the appetizer to the table. Also, as an accompaniment to this dish, you can make toasts from white or rye bread.
