One of the obligatory components of a birthday party is a festive table with various delicious dishes for the birthday person and dear guests. In addition to meat, fish and sweets, salads are often present on it, which perfectly diversify the festive menu.
Light salad options
During hot weather, the body requires lighter snacks, so in such weather it is better to prepare salads from vegetables or seafood on the festive table. As a dressing, you can use not high-calorie mayonnaise, but olive oil, lemon juice, mustard or soy sauce.
An excellent side dish for meat or fish dishes may not be the usual mashed potatoes or rice, but a delicious salad of cucumbers and tomatoes with a variety of herbs, for example, with basil. If you want to surprise your guests with a more refined appetizer, you can prepare a salad from a mixture of various greens, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers and feta cheese. This dish should be seasoned with salt, coarsely ground black pepper, lemon juice and olive oil.
A salad of pink tomatoes and oregano is also a great option. To prepare it, coarsely chop the tomatoes and sprinkle them with chopped fresh oregano leaves. Just before serving - season with salt and lemon juice.
Arugula and shrimp salad will be an interesting and tasty appetizer. To do this, boil the shrimp in salted water and peel them. Place in a salad bowl, add plenty of arugula and cherry tomatoes. Then drizzle with the dressing mixed from 2 tbsp. tablespoons of olive oil, the same amount of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of liquid honey and 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard.
Hearty salads with mayonnaise
As a hearty salad, you can cook herring under a fur coat. To do this, lay the following finely chopped ingredients in layers: boiled potatoes, herring fillets, onions, boiled eggs, carrots and beets. All layers must be generously greased with mayonnaise.
For lovers of savory sweet and salty dishes, you can serve a salad of pineapple and hard cheese canned in your own juice. Cut the first ingredient into large cubes, and grate the second on a fine grater. As a dressing, mix equal amounts of mayonnaise and sour cream, and add a couple of cloves of garlic passed through a press.
A delicious and very satisfying salad is made from beef heart, walnuts and carrots. To prepare it, boil the beef heart until tender, cut it into thin strips, mix with sautéed carrots and chopped walnuts. Mayonnaise is suitable as a dressing.
On the festive table, you can also put a delicate spring salad of boiled beef tongue, fresh cucumbers and Dutch cheese. Cut the tongue and cucumbers into thin strips, and grate the cheese. Season the salad with a mixture of sour cream, mayonnaise and minced garlic.
