It cannot be argued that tea bags have become a truly valuable invention for the modern world, but does the tea they put in have any benefit?

Unfortunately, the rhythm of life of a modern city dweller is such that often he simply has no time to relax and make good tea in a calm atmosphere, and then slowly drink it, delving into self-contemplation. Much more often people manage to throw a tea bag into a mug, pour boiling water from a teapot, and then, without stopping, run on about their business. Tea experts claim that such a drink does not bring any benefit or pleasure.

Most packaged drinks are crushed raw materials that have little to do with full-fledged leaf tea. Very small tea leaves are placed in paper bags, which sometimes more resemble tea dust. There are two reasons for this. The first is cheapness. Such raw materials usually remain after processing of the tea leaf and are classified as waste. Tea dust, broken and crushed leaves cannot be packaged in ordinary loose leaf tea packages, so they are sent to the production of tea bags. The second reason is speed. The bags are designed for instant drinks. The smallest particles of tea leaves interact much faster with hot water than ordinary large leaves, twisted in a special way. For example, palace pu-erh can be brewed up to seven to eight times without losing taste: large leaves unfold gradually and slowly release their beneficial properties and aroma to water. The bags are not re-brewed: they are usually thrown away after the first time.

Some connoisseurs of the traditional drink generally do not recognize packaged teas, considering them waste and harmful. In fact, such bags do not carry any harm. Some modern manufacturers even hire serious tasters to create unusual blends, and the bags themselves are made from filter paper, which contains only natural ingredients. Nevertheless, one cannot but agree that there will be no benefit from such a drink. Packaged tea is a harmless colored drink that has the aroma of tea, but does not carry the share of those unique beneficial properties that Chinese leaf tea is famous for. As for its many flavored varieties, they are usually chemically flavored. If jasmine leaves, roses, cornflower petals can be found in leaf tea, then only chemical flavors are used in tea bags, which is unlikely to benefit the body.
