Chinese green tea is classified as a low-fermented tea. It is obtained from the leaves of the tea bush by processing under high temperature conditions, rolling, drying or roasting. In order not to spoil the taste of this drink, green tea, like pu-erh tea, is recommended to be washed and steamed before brewing.

It is necessary

  • - a flask for tea;
  • - drinking water;
  • - tea.

Instructions

Step 1

The most comfortable way to brew Chinese green tea is in a tea flask. It allows you to filter the drink without using a strainer. When preparing this drink, it is important to make sure that the leaves do not fall into the cup. Place the tea leaves in the flask. For one hundred and twenty milliliters of water, you need seven grams of dry tea leaves. The varieties of this tea can vary greatly in density and if you come across a variety with large leaves, try to put them in a flask so that they do not break.

Step 2

Heat the brewing water. It is best to use drinking water that is not very hard. The water temperature for cooking various varieties ranges from seventy to ninety degrees. Some green tea connoisseurs believe that water should only be heated to the required temperature, and not boil. In any case, it is not recommended to use boiled water.

Step 3

Rinse the tea leaves. To do this, pour heated water into the flask. Allow the infusion to flow into the outer cylinder of the flask. After two minutes, remove the flask with leaves and pour out the first infusion. After that, the tea will be prepared for brewing.

Step 4

Pour hot water over washed tea leaves for a drink. When brewing Chinese green tea, the same rule applies as when brewing Japanese green teas - the more expensive and refined the type of tea, the lower the water temperature and the shorter the infusion time. To obtain a fragrant drink from Chinese teas, you will need to infuse the tea leaves from thirty seconds to a minute.

Step 5

Remove the flask with leaves from the teapot and place it on a special stand or put it on a tray. The drink can be poured into cups. This type of tea withstands six to ten short teas.

Step 6

Before making the next infusion, empty the rest of the previous one from the kettle. Sometimes green tea lovers and connoisseurs advise to slightly reduce the infusion time of the tea leaf after the second brewing, and again after the seventh brew.
