The brightest and most joyful holiday for any Orthodox person is coming - Easter. And today millions of housewives are concerned about what to bake with their own hands, having a limited set of products.

It is necessary

  • For the test:
  • - flour - 3 glasses;
  • - milk - 1 glass;
  • - chicken egg - 3 pieces;
  • - butter - 100 grams (it is better to pre-melt in a water bath);
  • - sugar - a quarter cup;
  • - baker's yeast - 20 grams (the dry version of the product will not work - the dough should rise as much as possible);
  • - vanillin - on the tip of a knife;
  • - table salt - a pinch;
  • - dried fruits - at will and to taste (the classic recipe suggests opting for a small amount of raisins).
  • For glaze:
  • - any fruit juice - 1 tablespoon;
  • - powdered sugar - 3 tablespoons;
  • - confectionery sprinkling for decoration - optional.

Instructions

Step 1

The first step is to knead the dough. To do this, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and mix thoroughly. Add 1, 5 tablespoons of sifted wheat flour and sugar to this. We put it in a warm place, for a better result, you can also wrap a container with dough.

We will get a rather thin dough, which thickens and rises a little in the process.

Step 2

Along the way, let's start preparing the glaze for the future Easter cake.

Separate the yolks from the proteins: grind the last with the rest of sugar, vanilla and pre-prepared butter. Add salt, egg yolks, pounded with the remaining sugar and butter. With a pinch of salt, beat the pre-cooled proteins and combine both mixtures.

Step 3

Knead the fairly raised dough by hand until it easily leaves the hands. If it turns out to be liquid, add more flour.

Leave the dough alone and warm again - it should rise again. Then add raisins to the dough and knead well again.

Step 4

It's time to prepare the baking dishes. We carefully coat the bottom with a silicone brush and sprinkle with flour on top. Put the dough at 1/3 of the height of the mold, letting it stand and rise. Bake over medium heat in the oven.

Readiness is determined by the dryness of a match or toothpick.

Step 5

When the cakes are ready, pour them with icing made of juice and icing sugar. Decorate with confectionery sprinkles.
