Mackerel is a very popular fish that many people love. You can bake mackerel in the oven in various ways: whole, in the form of steaks or rolls, in a sleeve, in foil, mixed with vegetables, and stuffed with any products. Cook the mackerel in the oven in foil.
There are a lot of recipes for cooking this fish, but the most important thing is to remember that you should not overexpose mackerel in the oven, otherwise it will turn out to be dryish. For cooking you will need:
- medium-sized mackerel - 2-3 pcs.;
- lemon - 2 pcs.;
- green onions - 1 bunch;
- garlic - 3 cloves;
- salt, pepper - to taste;
- onions - 3 pcs.;
- tomatoes - 2 pcs.;
- parsley - 1 bunch;
- dill - 1 bunch.
First, prepare the mackerel for baking. To do this, clean the fish, remove scales, entrails and gills. After these procedures, rinse the fish and place it on a paper towel to dry the mackerel. Next, peel the garlic, chop finely. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into small slices. Rinse the parsley and dill, then dry slightly and chop finely. Do the same with green onions. Combine chopped greens and tomatoes in a separate container.
Rinse, dry and cut onions into slices. Crush a couple of garlic cloves in a garlic press. Wash the lemon and cut into slices.
Now the fish can be grated with black pepper and salt, stuff the belly of the mackerel with chopped herbs and garlic. Then cut the fish into portions. Take a baking sheet and cover it with foil, on which you should put the fish belly up, wrap the edges of the foil and send the mackerel to the oven to bake for 35 minutes at 200 degrees.
Once the fish is cooked, take it out of the oven, unfold each piece and place the lemon, onion and tomato rings. You can also squeeze lemon juice and drizzle with mackerel. Garnish your dish with lettuce and lemon wedges. Now the mackerel baked in foil in the oven can be served.
