An original and very simple way to cook mackerel is to bake it in a jar. Such a fish turns out to be juicy, tender and tasty.
It is necessary
- - 2 mackerels;
- - 1 carrot;
- - 1 onion;
- - vegetable oil;
- - Bay leaf;
- - peppercorns;
- - salt;
- - liter glass jar;
- - a piece of foil.
Instructions
Step 1
Defrost the mackerel and cut if necessary. Gut, remove heads, tails. The heads and tails can then be used to make rich fish soup.
Step 2
Cut the prepared mackerel carcasses into pieces. Salt the fish a little, you can pepper.
Step 3
Peel the onions and carrots. Coarsely grate the carrots, or cut into strips. Chop the onion at random, best of all in half rings.
Step 4
Then you need to take a clean liter jar and put the prepared fish and vegetables in it. Put a layer of mackerel on the bottom, then a layer of carrots and onions. Repeat layers 1-2 more times.
Step 5
Put allspice peas, bay leaf on the very top. Then pour the mackerel with vegetables in a jar with vegetable oil, 40-50 ml is enough. Cover the neck of the jar with foil in 2-3 layers.
Step 6
Then you need to put the jar of mackerel on a baking sheet in the oven. It is important that the oven is cold. Only when the can is already inside can the heating be turned on. Cooking mackerel in a jar takes about 1 hour. The cooking temperature should not be too high. Enough 160-170 degrees. Immediately after readiness, mackerel can be served.
