I suggest you prepare “Puff pastry boats” as an appetizer for the festive table. This dish turns out to be juicy and tasty. In addition, it looks very beautiful and original.
It is necessary
- For the test:
- - flour - 225 g;
- - salt - a pinch;
- - butter - 200 g + 2 tablespoons;
- - water - 150 ml.
- Filling:
- - potatoes - 1 kg;
- - meat - 400 g;
- - onion - 1 piece;
- - pickled cucumbers - 3-4 pcs;
- - egg - 1 piece;
- - cheese - 50 g.
Instructions
Step 1
Peel the potatoes, then boil. When it's completely cooked, turn it into a puree.
Step 2
Grind the meat, chicken or pork, into small cubes. Put it in a skillet with butter and fry for 3 minutes, over high heat.
Step 3
Onions, cut into half rings, add to the fried meat. Simmer the resulting mass, by all means covering with a lid, for 10 minutes. After the time has elapsed, open the mixture and cook for about 4 more minutes, thus evaporating the excess liquid.
Step 4
Combine 2 tablespoons of melted butter with flour, salt and water and mix thoroughly. Form a ball from the resulting mass and cut it crosswise. Then unfold each piece like a petal and roll it out. Place butter cut into thin slices in the center of the formed layer. Cover it with the edges of the dough. Convert the mass into a rectangle and fold it like a book. In this form, send to cool. After 15 minutes, repeat this operation - there should be a total of 3. Place the puff pastry in the refrigerator for 3 hours.
Step 5
After rolling out the dough, cut into 8 equal parts. Take one of them and turn it into a rectangular layer. The middle of this dough piece should be slightly thicker than the edges.
Step 6
In the middle of the rectangle, first place 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes, then a tablespoon of the mixture of meat and onions. Place the cucumbers cut into half rings last. Using a knife, make small longitudinal cuts on the sides of the layer, then wrap it, covering one side with the other so that the hole is in the center. Form a boat and fix the edges. Do this with the whole test.
Step 7
Grease the surface of the boats with a pre-beaten chicken egg. Cover the top of the filling with grated cheese.
Step 8
