There are so many recipes for delicious cakes that sometimes you don't know where to stop. One family member wants something chocolate, another the other way around. And an excellent way out of this situation would be to make a Zebra cake.

It is necessary

    • Dough:
    • - 4 eggs;
    • - 2 tablespoons of sugar;
    • - 1 bag of vanilla sugar;
    • - 1 tsp baking soda
    • slaked in 1-2 tbsp. vinegar;
    • - 1 tbsp sour cream;
    • - 2 tbsp flour;
    • - 4 tsp cocoa;
    • - 100 g of shelled walnuts.
    • Cream:
    • - 1 tbsp sour cream;
    • - 1 cup sugar.
    • Glaze:
    • 3 tbsp sugar;
    • 3 tbsp Cocoa;
    • 4 tbsp milk;
    • 30-50 g butter.

Instructions

Step 1

Beat eggs with sugar and vanilla until smooth, white and fluffy. Add the vinegar slaked baking soda and mix well.

Step 2

Put sour cream in the resulting mixture and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Stirring continuously, add flour sifted through a fine sieve, while kneading the dough strictly in one direction.

Step 3

Divide the dough in two. Leave one part as it is, and add cocoa to the second and stir until a mass of uniform color is obtained.

Turn on the oven to preheat. At this time, brush the prepared cake pan with butter.

Pour the dough into the middle of the mold alternately: white, then with cocoa, and so on, until it ends. Then shake the mold slightly from side to side to distribute the dough as evenly as possible.

Put the form in an oven preheated to 200 degrees and bake for 45 minutes, check the readiness with a wooden stick or toothpick. Stick the wooden device into the cake, remove. If the stick remains dry, then you're done. If there are traces of dough on it, then you need to hold it in the oven for a little more time. Most importantly, the oven must not be opened for the first 15 minutes.

Take out the finished workpiece and let it cool down. Then cut it horizontally into 2-3 pieces, tastier when cut into 3 cakes. It is more convenient to do this in the following way: first, make an incision 1 cm deep with a knife, along the entire perimeter. Then we insert a thread into the resulting hole, slowly and carefully tie it to the end. With this method of separation, the cakes are smooth and not broken.

Preparing the cream:

Make powder out of sugar. Add thick sour cream and heavy cream. Whisk until a thick, non-flowing mass is formed.

Spread each cake generously with the resulting cream.

Cooking the icing:

Combine sugar, cocoa, milk and cook over low heat for 25 minutes. Finally add the butter and let it melt, then stir everything.

It is necessary to glaze the cake with a hot solution. Sprinkle with chopped nuts on top. You can also decorate the cake with dried fruits such as pineapple or kiwi. The decoration can be made to your liking.
