Zebra cake is a great idea for a festive dessert. Even ardent adherents of low-calorie diets will not be able to resist this striped delicacy with a tender and airy dough, covered with sour cream glaze and nuts.
It is necessary
- For the test:
- - 300 g of sifted flour;
- - 200 g sour cream;
- - 4 eggs;
- - 400 g of sugar;
- - 100 g of butter;
- - 2 tbsp. spoons of cocoa powder;
- - 250 g of shelled walnuts;
- - 2 tbsp. spoons of baking powder.
- For glaze:
- - 50 g sour cream;
- - 3 tbsp. tablespoons of sugar;
- - 2 tbsp. cocoa spoons;
- - 70 g butter.
- For impregnation:
- - 100 g of sugar;
- - 200 g sour cream.
Instructions
Step 1
First you need to knead the cake dough. To do this, in a separate bowl using a blender, mix 200 g of granulated sugar, 100 g of slightly softened butter and 4 eggs.
Step 2
Add 2 tbsp to the resulting mass. spoons of baking powder and 200 g of sour cream, after which we carefully alter all the ingredients.
Step 3
When the mass becomes homogeneous, and all the sugar has dissolved, gradually add 300 g of sifted flour to it, without stopping to beat. We divide the resulting mixture into two different parts, in one of which we add 2 tbsp. tablespoons of cocoa (thanks to this, the cake will acquire brown and white stripes).
Step 4
Grease a deep baking dish with butter, sprinkle with a small amount of flour and alternately form future multi-colored lines. To do this, first pour a little white dough into the mold, then add a little dark dough, and then make a small speck of white dough in the center. Thus, pour the whole mixture into a baking dish.
Step 5
We send the dough to bake in the oven, preheating it to a temperature of 180 degrees.
Step 6
While the dough is being prepared, proceed to the preparation of the icing for the striped dessert. To do this, in a separate container, mix sour cream, sugar, cocoa and butter until the sugar crystals are completely dissolved (therefore, it is best to place the mixture in a water bath). To prepare the impregnation, mix 100 g of sugar with 200 g of granulated sugar.
Step 7
We take out the finished biscuit for the cake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature, after which we cut it horizontally into two equal parts. Each cake is generously coated with sour cream, and on top we cover it with glaze. Decorate the finished cake with chopped walnuts.
