The multicooker makes it possible to cook a variety of dishes without hassle, including delicious pastries. Try to make an original Zebra cake - a biscuit with beautiful contrasting stripes looks very impressive in the cut. The finished product can be smeared with cream or jam, and the surface can be decorated with chocolate icing or powdered sugar.
Dough preparation and baking
Zebra cake is baked from two types of dough - their alternation creates an original drawing of the finished biscuit. Practice on a test copy before baking for guests - depending on the model of the multicooker, it may take a little longer to cook.
You will need:
- 1 glass of finely ground wheat flour;
- 1 glass of granulated sugar;
- 3 eggs;
- 100 g butter or margarine;
- 1 glass of sour cream;
- 1 tablespoon baking powder;
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder;
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla sugar;
- vegetable oil for lubrication.
Sour cream for the test can be replaced with yogurt or kefir.
Break the eggs into a bowl, add granulated sugar and vanilla sugar. Whisk the mixture - it is convenient to use a mixer for this. Add softened butter and sour cream, thoroughly grind the mass. Mix the sifted flour with baking powder and add portions to the dough. Stir it well, set aside half.
Add cocoa powder to the set aside dough and stir until smooth. Lubricate the multicooker bowl with vegetable oil. Spread the light and dark dough alternately, arranging the mixtures in concentric circles. For crisp streaks, use separate spoons for each type of dough.
Using a wooden skewer, make perpendicular stripes on the surface of the dough - the resulting pattern will resemble a flower. Poke the dough with a skewer through the entire thickness of the future biscuit. Close the lid of the multicooker and turn on the baking mode for 60-70 minutes.
After the signal is ready, let the biscuit stand for 10 minutes under the closed lid. Then open the multicooker and let the cake sit for another 10 minutes. Take out the finished product and turn it over onto the board. Refrigerate the biscuit.
Cake decoration
Prepare a chocolate icing in two colors - it will successfully complement the delicate flavor of the biscuit, and the drawing on the surface will continue the zebra theme.
You will need;
- 100 g of dark chocolate without additives;
- 40 g of white chocolate;
- 2 tablespoons of cream.
You can use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate for icing.
Melt both types of chocolate in a water bath. Add cream to dark and mix well. Cover the cooled cake with hot chocolate icing, and then smooth the surface with a knife. The chocolate should also cover the sides of the product.
Place the melted white chocolate in a pastry syringe. Use it to apply even concentric circles to the surface of the cake. Until the frosting is frozen, use a toothpick to depict feathers, turning the circles into a flower. Let the frosting harden and serve.
