The first mentions of this ancient Slavic drink date back to the 12th century. Since then, it has been made from honey, water and various spices. Various herbs were also often added to it, making sbiten not only tasty, but also a healing drink.
It is necessary
- - 1 liter of water;
- - 200 g of honey;
- - 100 g of granulated sugar;
- - thyme, cloves and ginger - to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Pour water into a small saucepan and put it on fire. When warm, add sugar and honey. Stir constantly to dissolve these ingredients completely.
Step 2
Place thyme, cloves, and fresh ginger in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer for another 7 minutes, periodically skimming off the foam. Then remove from heat.
Step 3
Cover the pot with a lid and let it sit for half an hour. Then strain, heat a little, pour into glasses and serve, garnished with a lemon wedge.
