In recent years, more and more housewives have begun to acquire such modern kitchen appliances as a multicooker. This wonderful helper is not only able to prepare a variety of first and second courses, but also perfectly copes with the function of the oven. She bakes pies, cake layers and even real bread. Many models of appliances have a special multifunctional mode "Multipovar", thanks to which you can manually set the cooking time and temperature. But even if your model does not have this mode, it's okay. Fragrant, airy, tall bread can be baked in almost any multicooker.
Foods for making homemade bread
In order to bake white bread in a slow cooker, you will need the following set of ingredients:
- water - 500 ml;
- flour - 900-1000 g;
- salt - 1 tbsp. l. without a slide;
- sugar - 1 tbsp. l. without a slide;
- sunflower oil - 1 tbsp. l.;
- dry instant yeast - 1 tbsp. l.;
- butter - 5 g (to lubricate the bowl).
How to make dough
First of all, boil the water, and then cool it until warm (36-40 degrees) and pour into a large deep bowl. Then add one tablespoon of salt and sugar. Mix everything, and then pour in sunflower oil and add instant yeast. In this case, you need to pay attention to one condition - the yeast must be fresh. Otherwise, the dough may not rise. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved in the water.
Now you can start putting in the flour. Depending on the variety, 900-1000 g is required, so it is best to add it in parts - you should get a soft elastic dough that does not stick to your hands.
Cover the bowl with the finished dough with cling film or a lid. And so that the dough is properly spaced, put it in a warm place for 1 hour. Tip: If your home is cool, you can place the bowl on top of a bucket filled with warm water. When the time is up, open the dough slightly and check if it has increased 2-3 times. If not, then leave it for a while. But, as a rule, if you have good yeast, then an hour should be enough.
How to bake bread in a slow cooker
Remember the finished dough well with your hands and form a bun. Then put it back in a warm place for 50-60 minutes. After the time has elapsed, grease the multicooker bowl with butter and transfer the workpiece into it. And then turn on the "Baking" mode and bake bread for 1 hour. Optionally, if you want a golden brown crust, the baking time can be increased to 1 hour and 40 minutes.
After the multicooker gives a sound signal that the time is up, the bread will need to be turned over. Use the steamer basket to remove the product from the bowl. Alternatively, for more convenience, wrap the bowl with a towel and with shaking movements wait until the bread is removed. Now, to make it completely baked, place it back in the bowl upside down and set the Bake function again. Set the time to 30 minutes if you baked it for 1 hour and 40 minutes. Or 50 minutes if the bread was baked for 60 minutes before. When the multicooker signals the end of the program, remove the finished bread from the bowl. Let it cool, and then you can cut it into pieces and serve.
