Instructions
Step 1
Make a biscuit. Separate the whites from the yolks. Whisk the whites into a strong foam, add a pinch of salt to them. Continuing to beat, add a little sugar to the mass. As a result, a stable foam should be obtained. If you turn the bowl over, the whipped egg whites shouldn't run out. Add the egg yolks to the whipped whites and beat again.
Step 2
Add baking powder to the flour. Pour the mixture into a bowl with beaten eggs and stir gently. You should get a dough with a consistency like thick sour cream.
Step 3
Grease a heart-shaped baking dish with vegetable oil and pour out the dough. Place in preheated oven and bake until tender. You can check this by sticking a wooden toothpick into the cake. The biscuit is ready if the stick remains clean. Remove the form. Cut the finished cake crosswise into 3 parts.
Step 4
Soak while the biscuit is baking. pour one glass of water into a saucepan, add powdered sugar. Bring everything to a boil. Squeeze the juice from half a lemon and add it to the sweet water and immediately remove from heat. Cool the liquid. Then add cognac and berry syrup.
Step 5
Pour the impregnation on the warm cakes, let them lie down for a while and collect the cake. Grease the first crust with a thick layer of jam, sprinkle with chopped walnuts and peanuts. Put in the second crust, brush with jam and add the nuts. Cover everything with the third cake layer and brush with jam.
Step 6
Roll out the finished marzipan mass. Cut the heart out of it. To do this, place a baking dish on it and cut along the contour with a knife. Place the resulting leaf on the cake. Grease the sides with jam and sprinkle generously with toasted peanuts. Decorate the surface of the cake with marzipan flowers.
