Limoncello liqueur is very popular in Italy, namely in Sicily. The recipe is very simple, but in Russia it costs 7 times more.
It is necessary
- - 500 ml of alcohol;
- - 3 glasses of filtered water;
- - 500 g of granulated sugar;
- - a pack of vanillin;
- - 7 lemons;
- - 3 limes.
Instructions
Step 1
Peel the zest from the lemons and limes. The zest must be peeled off without the white part, otherwise the drink will be bitter. Finely chop the peeled zest and cover with alcohol. Put a pack of vanillin in there. Place the jar in a dark, cool place for 2 weeks. Shake the container daily.
Step 2
After two weeks, continue making the liquor. Pour 3 cups of filtered water into a saucepan. Pour 500 g of granulated sugar into it and stir constantly until you get a thick syrup. Remove from heat and cool.
Step 3
Strain the alcohol infused with the zest. Now pour it into the syrup and stir well.
Step 4
Limoncello is served chilled. In Sicily, special glasses are used for this, which are frozen so that there is a thin layer of ice on them. Can be served simply over ice.
Step 5
Limoncello liqueur is used to impregnate cake layers and fruit pies. It gives the baked goods an unforgettable taste. It can also be added to coffee or tea. Ice cream is made with liqueur.
