Julep is a cocktail traditionally prepared with sweet sugar syrup. Originally, this drink was the basis for a medicine that was added to the syrup to soften its bitter taste. But someone quickly realized that such a drink resembles an alcoholic cocktail, so in the 19th century, julep began to gain popularity in a new incarnation. But it is not necessary to prepare this cocktail with the addition of alcoholic beverages; you can consider equally delicious non-alcoholic julep recipes.
