Sufganiyot, another traditional Jewish donut with jam, prepared for Hanukkah. But you can cook them any day, why wait so long for a holiday?
It is necessary
- - 2 tbsp. dry yeast,
- - 50 g sugar
- - 2 eggs,
- - 2 cups of flour,
- - ½ glass of boiled water,
- - ½ tsp seasoning nutmeg,
- - 1 tsp salt,
- - 50 g soft butter,
- - 500 ml of sunflower oil,
- - jam for filling donuts.
Instructions
Step 1
In a bowl, combine yeast, warm water, and 1 tsp. Sahara. Set aside and let it brew for 10 minutes until the mixture foams.
Step 2
Sift the flour into a large bowl. Make a depression in the center, pour in the yeast mixture, add butter, eggs, salt, sugar and nutmeg. Stir all ingredients with a spoon until a sticky dough forms. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured table and knead until flat, about 10 minutes.
Step 3
Shape the dough into a circle, place in a cup greased with sunflower oil, cover and place in a warm place for about 1 hour. During this time, the dough should double in volume.
Step 4
Beat the dough that has come up and roll it into a layer about 7 mm thick. Using a glass about 5-7 cm in diameter, cut out circles from the dough.
Step 5
Cover with a towel and let rise for 20-30 minutes.
Step 6
Heat the oil in a deep bowl over moderate heat. Place 6-7 donuts in the butter. Grill until golden brown on one side, about 2 minutes, then turn and grill on the other.
Step 7
Finally, sprinkle the donuts with sugar. Fill a pastry syringe with jam and squeeze it inside the donuts.
