On August 24, 1869, a new birth of waffles took place - a Dutchman from New York, Cornelius Swarthout, patented the first waffle iron, after which the States, and then Europe, then the whole world experienced a real waffle boom. Since then, there have been many recipes for making waffles, and August 24 has become waffle day. Europeans prefer to use them with maple syrup or blackberry jam.

- For curd waffles:
- - cottage cheese 200 g;
- - eggs 3 pcs;
- - sugar 50 g;
- - flour 70 g;
- - milk 50 ml;
- - zest of 1 lemon;
- - baking powder 1 package;
- - salt.
- For banana chocolate waffles:
- - flour 200 g;
- - cream 0.2 l;
- - eggs 3 pcs;
- - bitter chocolate 100 g;
- - butter 60 g;
- - sugar 80 g;
- - vanillin;
- - baking powder 0, 5 sachets;
- - sparkling water 50 ml;
- - sour cream 50 g;
- - almonds 50 g;
- - lemon juice 1 tsp
Instructions
Step 1
Cooking curd waffles. Separate the whites from the yolks and whisk the sugar with the yolks. Add cottage cheese, a pinch of salt and lemon zest. Mix thoroughly. Dissolve flour in milk by adding baking powder. Mix with curd mixture. Whisk the whites separately and add them gently, stirring to the dough. Bake on a preheated waffle iron, remembering to grease it with butter.
Step 2
For banana-curd cheese, beat butter, sugar and vanillin with a mixer. Add eggs and continue beating. Chop the almonds. Mix flour and baking powder separately. Add soda and sour cream. Stir and pour the resulting mixture over the butter and egg mixture. Stir well and let sit for 15 minutes.
Step 3
Peel and puree the bananas in a blender. Add lemon juice to them and stir. Pour the puree into the dough and stir. Bake the waffles in the waffle iron, making sure to grease it with butter. Then heat the cream and melt the chocolate. Pour the finished waffles with creamy chocolate sauce.
