Anonim

In August 2014, Russia decided to impose an import embargo on certain products from those countries that had previously tightened sanctions against Moscow due to the situation in Ukraine. Prohibited to import vegetables, meat, seafood, sausages, dairy products, nuts and fruits from Australia, Norway, the United States and the European Union. However, a gastronomic deficit in Russia is not predicted.

Shrimp

Almost all shrimp varieties have been banned. But there is a pleasant exception - shrimp in brine with spices, supplied in an airtight package. Against the background of the fact that other types of this seafood are banned, the news is quite good.

Olive oil and olives

Neither oil nor canned olives fell under the embargo. So Russian gourmets will not be left without Greek salad and olive oil-based dressings.

Cheese and dairy products

The most significant "combat losses" await connoisseurs of cheeses that foreign sellers will no longer be able to supply to Russia. Only mozzarella, and then frozen, was not banned. Popular Italian cheese in this form, according to customs regulations, fell into the category "Other food". Therefore, the embargo does not apply to him. However, they have already learned how to make mozzarella at domestic dairies - this, of course, is not "mozzarella di bufala", but it is quite suitable for pizza.

Meanwhile, there is good news: many chain stores were able to make substantial stocks of cheese, which should be enough for half a year or a year of sales.

Other milk products were also banned. Russians will not see Finnish butter, German puddings and yoghurts on the shelves.

Sardines and sprats

The legendary Riga sprats will not disappear from Russian counters, since only fresh and frozen fish were sanctioned. Sprats are canned products. Sardines and anchovies won't go anywhere either.

Preserves, jam and confiture

The embargo on the import of fresh fruits does not apply to the import of products prepared from them. Consequently, canned preserves, confiture and jams will remain on the shelves, both European and American.

Chocolate

Despite the ban on dairy products, chocolate and chocolate products were not sanctioned. The fact is that all chocolate products belong to the category "Cocoa Products", and they are not prohibited from being imported into Russia.

Sunflower seeds and peanuts

The sanctions affected the nuts, but they did not affect the peanuts. However, we are talking only about unpeeled peanuts. Seeds will also remain on store shelves.

Alcohol and baby food

Alcohol, including wine, and baby food did not fall under the complete ban on supplies. In addition, confectionery products, juices and canned food have not yet been banned. It should be noted that Swiss products, including cheeses, are not blacklisted. Also, the sanctions did not apply to products from Japan.

It is worth noting that the embargo will last for a year. The Russian government reserved the right to revise its terms downward, but only if foreign states revise their policies towards Moscow.
