Melon marmalade turns out to be very aromatic. For its preparation, it is better to take an orange melon, agar-agar as a gelling agent and natural vanilla. Agar agar can be purchased at specialty food stores.
It is necessary
- - 1 kg of melon;
- - 1 lemon;
- - 80 g of sugar;
- - 5 pieces. cardamom;
- - 4 teaspoons of agar-agar;
- - vanilla stick.
Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the melon thoroughly, cut it in half. Take out the seeds with a tablespoon, cut the melon halves into slices, remove the peel. Cut the pulp into small cubes.
Step 2
Add the inner part of a quarter of a vanilla stick, lemon zest from 1 fruit, and juice from half a lemon to the melon cubes. Grind the contents of the cardamom seeds in a mortar, add to this melon mass. Pour sugar on top, set aside for 1 hour - the melon should let the juice flow.
Step 3
Place the melon slices along with the resulting juice in a blender bowl, chop in a puree. Pour into a small saucepan, bring to a boil, cool, refrigerate overnight.
Step 4
The next day, bring the aromatic melon puree to a boil again, add agar-agar, cook for 5 minutes. Pour the mass into a mold, cool, remove already until completely solidified in the refrigerator.
Step 5
Remove the frozen marmalade from the mold. To make this easier, walk around the edge of the mold with the tip of your knife, then flip the mold onto the board.
Step 6
Cut the finished melon marmalade into cubes. Store the marmalade in the refrigerator.
