Instructions

Step 1

Use ginger root in salads, soups (especially chicken), rice and meat dishes. Grate the peeled root and add a little (no more than 0.5 teaspoon) to the soup shortly until cooked. Don't overdo it, ginger has a very bright spicy taste.

Step 2

Make a salad. You will love the unusual combination of sweetish crab meat with a spicy and at the same time tender sauce.

Cut 200 g of crab meat, 5 green onions and one bell pepper cut into thin strips. Make a dressing with 2 tablespoons softened cream cheese (like "Philadelphia"), half a teaspoon of grated ginger root, 1 teaspoon of soy sauce, juice and zest of half a lime, stirring all the ingredients. Put the lettuce leaves on the plates, in the center, on the leaves, put the pieces of crab meat, pour the dressing on top and sprinkle with green onions and pepper.

Step 3

Try making a marinade for meat by mixing 1 teaspoon of grated ginger root, four tablespoons of soy sauce, and 50 ml of Tokay sweet wine. Cut the meat into pieces 1 cm thick and the size of your palm, leave in the marinade for 30 minutes, or better for a couple of hours, then fry on both sides in a pan and serve with boiled rice.

Step 4

Delight your guests with an unusual dessert. Take a handful of different dried fruits (prunes, figs, dates, raisins, dried apricots, apples) and pour boiling water over them. Put a bay leaf, two cardamom stars each, having previously broken it, a clove, a cinnamon stick. Put everything on the stove and simmer until a thick sauce. At the end of cooking, add one teaspoon of finely grated ginger, a pinch of nutmeg and ground cinnamon each. Serve chilled dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Step 5

remedy for colds. Brew ginger separately, or add a teaspoon of grated root to a teapot of green or black tea. Let it brew and drink a hot, scalding drink with honey on cold winter evenings.
