Apple mash has a pleasant taste and aroma. It is not difficult to prepare it at home, but the process takes a lot of time. This recipe is especially useful when you have a lot of fallen apples that need to be used somehow.
It is necessary
- - ripe apples 15 kg
- - water 10 l
- - sugar 2 kg
- - dry yeast 50 g
- - rubber medical glove or water seal
Instructions
Step 1
The first thing to do is sort the apples, peel, cut. Use both the pulp and the peel to make the mash.
Step 2
Juice the apples using a juicer. If you don't have it, you can grate the apples on a regular grater and then use the pulp. Please note that if you are cooking apple pulp, it should be smooth.
Step 3
Dissolve the yeast with warm, but not boiling water (you can read the full instructions on the package with the yeast). Place the apple juice, yeast, water and sugar in a bowl, stir until smooth.
Step 4
Put a rubber medical glove on the neck of the container, first pierce a hole in it with a needle in the area of the finger. If you have a water seal, use it. Leave the mixture to ferment for 30-40 days in a dark place.
Step 5
When the wash is ready, the glove will deflate. Strain the mash until completely transparent, get rid of the sediment. From the resulting mash, you can make apple moonshine or use it as an independent low-alcohol drink.
Step 6
You can also make mash without adding yeast - then it will be called cider. Before cooking, so as not to spoil 15 kg of apples, it is better to do a small test: grind 1 kg of apples. Important: you need to grind apples without washing them - it is on the surface that yeast fermentation is contained. Leave to ferment for 2-3 days - this will tell you if the apples are sweet enough to ferment.
