Steamed dishes are rightfully considered dietary, because they retain most of the nutrients. Moreover, such food is easily digested. Perhaps steamed fish may seem like a bland dish to someone, but if you just experiment with spices, you will discover it from a new side.

It is necessary

    • fish fillet or steaks - 1kg;
    • water;
    • salt
    • pepper
    • spices to taste;
    • a steamer or saucepan and a wide, heat-resistant plate.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the fish first. Steamed seafood is most delicious - trout, salmon, pink salmon, pangasius, but any other will do. Scrape off the scales, remove the insides, rinse thoroughly. Then cut each carcass in two along the ridge and remove the bones. Rinse and pat dry again. If you want to save time, use ready-made fish fillets or steaks.

Step 2

Sprinkle the fillet with lemon juice or olive oil. Season with salt, pepper and rub with dried herbs (you can use ready-made fish seasonings, but in this case, reduce the amount of salt). Leave the fillet for 10-15 minutes to soak in the aromas. You can do without spices, then the finished dish will be more dietary.

Step 3

Take care of the utensils in which you will cook. If you have a steamer, everything is simple: pour water into the lower container, put prepared fish pieces on a trellised bowl, close the lid and start cooking according to the instructions for your steamer. If you do not have such a household appliance, do not despair. Firstly, the function is to steam the fish in a regular saucepan. To do this, pour water into it approximately to the middle, place a wide and flat heat-resistant plate on top, grease it a little with oil and lay out the fish. If you have not used spices, you can put a few sprigs of dill and lemon wedges on top. Cover the fillets with foil and cover with a lid on top, put on medium heat.

Step 4

Steamed fish is cooked very quickly - only 7-10 minutes after the water boils. To avoid scalding, do not open the lid of the steamer frequently during cooking. Steamed fish is best paired with mashed potatoes or vegetable salad.
