The benefits of apples cannot be overstated. It is not for nothing that the very first course of complementary foods is most often applesauce. It contains a lot of vitamins, natural sugar, organic acids and trace elements that strengthen the child's immune system. Puree is well absorbed by the child's body, has a beneficial effect on the intestines. Its consistency teaches the baby to eat thicker foods than mother's milk or formula. In addition, it is also important that this dish is easy to cook on your own and this does not affect the budget of a young family so much.

It is necessary

    • For regular puree:
    • apples;
    • water.
    • For dried apple puree:
    • crushed dried apples;
    • water;
    • a little sugar.
    • For preparation for the winter:
    • apples;
    • sugar (200 gr. per 1 kg of apples);
    • water (200 ml per 1 kg of apples).

Instructions

Step 1

Choose apples. Sweet and sour green varieties that grow in your area are preferable, because they are less allergenic. The fruit should be free of dents and dark spots.

Step 2

Rinse the apples under cool running water. Then scald with boiling water. Core and peel.

Step 3

Option 1 Grate on a fine grater. Use a plastic, glass or stainless steel grater to prevent the puree from oxidizing and losing more vitamin C. If you don't have a grater made of a suitable material on hand, just chop the pulp finely and mash it with a wooden crush. Wipe the resulting mass 2 times through a sieve.

Step 4

Option 2 Cut the apples into small wedges. Place in a small saucepan. Pour in hot boiled water. The liquid level is slightly higher than the apples. Cover and simmer over low heat for 7 minutes. After that, wipe the whole mass through a fine sieve, along with water. Place again in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat immediately. Cool it down.

Step 5

Dried apple pureeIt is suitable for feeding babies over 8 months. Rinse dried apples in warm water twice. Place in a saucepan, cover with cold water. Leave it on for 3 hours to swell the apples. Put on low heat and cook until softened. Rub the mass through a sieve. You can add a little sugar before drinking. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator, but not more than 2 days.

Step 6

Make mashed potatoes for the winter. Core the apples, peel them. Pour in water and cook until tender - they should soften. Cool and scroll in a meat grinder. Add sugar. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes. Pour into dry sterilized jars, roll up. Cover with a blanket and leave for 3-4 hours. Store in a cool, dark place.
