Step 1
Prepare vegetables and fruits. To make mashed potatoes, you need fresh specimens without traces of rot or mold. Wash and clean them thoroughly. Cut the carrots into slices and pour into a saucepan. Pour some water over it and cook until soft. Drain the water, cool the finished root vegetables a little and pass through the food processor. For a more homogeneous puree, vegetables can be rubbed through a sieve.
Step 2
Peel the apples and seeds, cut into slices. Put them in a saucepan, cover with a little hot water and cook over low heat until soft. Rub the finished fruit through a sieve or beat with a mixer. Place both purees in a saucepan, add sugar to taste and stir. While stirring constantly, bring the mixture to a boil and cook for 2-3 minutes. The puree is ready to eat. It is perfect for baby food or as a semi-finished product for making desserts.
Step 3
To prepare the carrot-apple mixture for future use, sterilize the jars and lids and dry them. It is better to take small containers so that the opened puree does not have time to deteriorate. Fill the jars with hot mashed potatoes and place them in a pot of water. Bring it to a boil and pasteurize the puree for about 20 minutes.
Step 4
You can prepare carrot and applesauce differently. Wash and peel vegetables and fruits, grate them, place in a saucepan and fill with a little hot water. While stirring, cook the mixture over low heat until completely softened. Make sure that the puree does not burn. Beat the fruit and vegetable mass with a mixer until completely homogeneous, add sugar, pour in the cream and bring to a boil again. Stir the puree thoroughly, refrigerate and serve.

Carrot and apple puree with orange juice is also very tasty. This dish will appeal to children, as well as those who follow a fruit and vegetable diet. Grate peeled apples and carrots and place in a saucepan. Juice the oranges. Pour it into the fruit and vegetable mixture and, stirring occasionally, cook until soft and partially evaporated. Add honey and whisk with a mixer.
