It is necessary

    • 500 g apples
    • 2 tbsp lemon juice
    • 100 g sugar
    • 5 tbsp cold water

Instructions

Step 1

Applesauce will be tastier if you use a slightly sour apple variety for it. On mashed potatoes, you can start stale, sluggish and soft fruits that no one will eat just like that.

Step 2

Peel the apples, cut them into 4 parts, remove the core from each of them. Cut the quarters into small slices, put them in a saucepan, pour over with lemon juice to prevent the apple pulp from darkening with oxygen. Add water and sugar to a saucepan, cover, put on fire and bring to a boil.

Step 3

Remove the lid from the pan, reduce heat to low, continue cooking with occasional stirring for 10-15 minutes. The duration of cooking depends on the variety and condition of the apples.

Step 4

As soon as the apple slices begin to fall apart, remove the pan from the heat and refrigerate. Puree the cooled apples with a blender or food processor. If you don't have either one or the other, rub the apples through a sieve.

Step 5

Mashed potatoes can be served either as a sauce or filling, or as a completely independent dish. You can store cooked applesauce in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
