Pasta is a delicious side dish; it is also used as a dressing for ordinary and dairy soups, for making casseroles. But, of course, the benefits of this product depend on what is included in their composition. Therefore, when buying pasta, vermicelli or noodles, be sure to read the information on the package.
Composition of pasta
Pasta and pasta that you can buy in Russian stores, regardless of the country in which they were produced, are divided into three classes. Class A is made only from durum wheat, the so-called durum. For the manufacture of pasta belonging to class B, medium-hardness wheat is used, and for class C, its soft varieties. In addition to wheat flour of appropriate hardness, flavorings, preservatives, dyes (natural and synthetic), as well as eggs and their derivatives, whey and milk, whole or dry, can be added to the pasta dough.
As for a product such as spaghetti, by definition, nothing but water and flour should be in their composition. It is only allowed to use pomace from natural vegetables (carrots, pumpkin, tomatoes) to dye the dough in other colors. Spaghetti also comes in two classes. The composition of the 1st class spaghetti should include high quality durum flour; for 2nd class products, first grade flour is used. The most useful are pasta and spaghetti, which contain only durum wheat and water, in extreme cases, natural vegetable juice.
Durum pasta and flour should be included in the diet of a person who wants to eat right. They are beneficial even for diabetics.
