Today karaoke is known all over the world. Restaurants and cafes with him are among the most popular establishments for those who wish to spend their leisure time with good company.
It is believed that this entertainment originated in Japan. This is not entirely true. In the USA in the fifties of the last century, concerts given by the Mitch Miller Choir were very popular. During their performances, the vocalists sang their favorite hits, and those sitting in the hall sang along. This system is like karaoke.
However, as a phenomenon, it really originated in the land of the rising sun. Translated from Japanese "karaoke" means "empty orchestra". In fact, this is music without words, or "backing track".
One of the most popular and believable stories of its origin is the story of the Japanese musician Daisuke Inoue. More than thirty years ago, he worked in a bar in Tokyo. The audience really liked the singer's performance, and he was asked to leave a record in order to learn his favorite songs. Subsequently, Daisuke Inoue came up with a system that could play music without words. He used backing tracks to entertain spectators who came to the concert during the breaks between his band's performances. Unfortunately, this idea was not recognized at the time. It was Inoue who became the creator of karaoke, but he did not patent his creation. For his resourcefulness, the drummer received only an award, which was called "for the most stupid and useless invention." From the point of view of experts, Inoue could become the richest man in Japan if he registered the rights to him. Daisuke Inoue came up with a device that is a modified audio recorder. The mechanism was activated after a person dropped a hundred yen coin into it. The cost of the pleasure was rather big, but this entertainment was rapidly gaining popularity.
Several Japanese businessmen took up the production of karaoke systems. Over time, they were modified, adding a screen on which the lyrics were broadcast. There was also an additional video sequence accompanying the karaoke song. Such equipment began to be installed in cafes, clubs and restaurants. It became very popular among children. There were models that could be used at home. They began to acquire various options, the assortment expanded.
The invention was patented by businessman Roberto del Rosario in 1975. He currently makes a profit with every karaoke system that goes to the global market.
Today it is possible to purchase both a small version for home use and a huge device that includes sophisticated acoustic systems and laser projectors.
The development of karaoke received a new impetus with the invention of the Leadsinger microphone. It differed from others in that it could be tuned to a specific radio frequency. This made it possible to use entertainment even in nature. Music was recorded on special media that were inserted into a microphone. In addition, this product also caught the radio.
In Russia, the karaoke system appeared thanks to the businessman Yan Borisovich Rovner (owner of the Autogarant exhibition center). Traveling around America, he became interested in the microphone and entered into an agreement with the manufacturer for the supply of devices to Russia. Showman Sergei Minaev also made a significant contribution to the popularity of karaoke, who spoke about it in the program “Two Grand Pianos”.
Karaoke is a pretty profitable business. So if you want to make decent money, try your hand at this particular area.
