Rice is a healthy product that should be in everyone's diet. It supplies the body with B vitamins, minerals - calcium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, carbohydrates and proteins. Not all rice varieties have the same composition. Some can provide great health benefits.
Instructions
Step 1
White rice. Today, this type of rice is not in favor with supporters of a healthy diet. This is a refined product, which contains very little nutrients. They are removed during processing, that is, together with the casing. As a result, only a high starch content remains in the grain, and minerals with vitamins are much less than in other untreated varieties.
Step 2
Brown rice. Unpolished brown (or brown) rice is much more useful. The severed casing is not removed from it. It contains all the nutrients of whole grains, in particular, vitamin E, PP, carotene, B, as well as trace elements potassium and magnesium. This rice takes longer to cook. If twenty minutes is enough to cook white rice, then the cooking time for brown rice is increased by one and a half times. It is more often used for healthy nutrition, improves the condition of nails, hair, and has a beneficial effect on the skin. Japanese scientists have even proven that regular consumption of brown brown rice in food increases memory by 60% and forms the ability to better absorb information.
Step 3
Parboiled rice. Parboiled rice can be put in third place in terms of usefulness. It is also cleaned of bran husks, not before it is subjected to steam treatment. As a result, 80% of the nutrients contained in the shell are not lost, but pass into the grain. Raw parboiled rice grains are off-yellow and partially transparent. But during heat treatment, they become snow-white, do not stick together and have a bright, rich taste. Parboiled rice is a dietary product used for gastritis.
Step 4
Black rice. This exotic type of rice is not yet very common in our country. Thais use it for salads and desserts. It has a delicate and original herbal taste. In terms of usefulness, it is inferior to brown rice, but not inferior to white rice. Black rice is an excellent adsorbent that helps remove unnecessary substances from the body, including excess sodium.
Step 5
Red rice. It is originally from France, where it has long been considered a weed. Red rice has the highest protein content of any other rice. It has a strong rice flavor, so it can be used in herbal salads and garnishes. With just 50 grams of red rice, you can get your daily protein intake. And at the same time, it contains 350 calories per 100 g. Rice makes it easy to follow a weight-loss diet because you can reduce the amount of food you eat and calculate the calorie intake.
